Say Yeah, Darling [Lady K Loves]

For some reason, I thought for a long time that Lady K Loves only made jeans and tops. Somewhat recently I saw Amanda (Modern June Cleaver) of Junebugs and Georgia Peaches wearing their Say Yeah top and Darling skirt set in seersucker white and blue stripes and fell in love. I hopped on the website immediately but couldn’t find it. It must have sold out after their promotion, I figured. Damnit.

Fast forward to the Christmas sales period and an Instagram post from Lady K Loves about their own sale made me decide to check out what they had to offer. I saw the same set I had wanted available in red and clicked through to have a closer look, only to realise: AHA! It’s there, they had it, my beloved blue stripes! All their items that are available in different colourways are listed on one page for that style item, with a drop down menu allowing you to choose what colour fabric you prefer. On mobile this wasn’t immediately obvious to me the first time I checked for the set, hence I missed it. But for £19 for the top and £25 for the skirt I finally ordered the set I so wanted and couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

This set is perfect for Spring and summer. I can’t wait to wear it loaded up with wooden or bamboos bangles, stacked wedges, cats eye sunglasses and a sunny attitude. Still, just because I know this outfit will look incredible in the breeze and the sun doesn’t mean I won’t wear it in winter. It’s simple and classic, so it’s all down to the styling as to how you wear this set. I refuse to wait until spring, so for me cardigans and seamed stockings will do me just fine while my outfit and I wait out the frosts.

I love that worn together these pieces look like a dress, which is indeed what I thought they were at first. Yet you get the versatility of both a top and a skirt, allowing for all sorts of outfit combos as you swap out your separates. I’m in love with the seersucker striped fabric, and the small design details of the shoulder knots and even the patterned wooden button closure at the waist really make this set something special.

I ordered both these pieces in the XL, as the size chart stated their XL is for 33inch waists and 41 inch busts–my exact measurements! They fit perfectly and I’m so happy to have found another vintage style company who’s XL is made for 33 waists, taking some of the guess workout of sizing for me where other companies might require me to decide whether to risk sizing down or up for an item I want.

The Say Yeah top is on sale for £16 and comes in black, raspberry and this featured blue stripe. The Darling skirt comes available in the same colours, but now costs £45. Lady K Loves offers the sizes XS to XXL in these items and ship internationally.

  1. You look just gorgeous in this set, and I’m so impressed by your twirling pics! As a Yank, I sort of forgot that seersucker existed, but this makes me want seersucker everything!
