Hell Bunny have done great work this season in producing not only an array of dresses in fun prints, but also in including design details in the construction of those dresses that produce a great fit and a level of customisation for the wearer. Given that Hell Bunny is a budget-friendly vintage inspired brand that really impresses me, and I’m pleased to be sharing another such dress with you today.
To me, the Tahiti 50s dress is a pinch of tropical paradise done by way of England–that is to say, it features a gorgeous tropical print that won’t scare off ladies who are wary of wearing super bright colours. It’s all about rich plums and muted greens framed against a soft fresh minty-blue, with a dose of clean white, and it’s kind of perfect.
Dress: Tahiti 50s dress C/O Hell Bunny
Shoes: Old eBay
Cardigan: Ice Blue Tootsie Cropped Cardigan
Bangles: Bow & Crossbones Tortoiseshell & Wooden bangle + Assorted
This print is such a gorgeous tropical option for days you don’t feel like sporting bold colours like the yellows, oranges or reds so often featured in tropical prints. The tones of the print are beautifully paired, and they feel fresh and summery to wear even on a dreary English day, of which we’ve had so many lately. I wore this dress to pop to the supermarket after taking these blog shots and multiple ladies stopped me to compliment it, so it’s not just me who’s enamored by it.
In addition to that wonderful print, Hell Bunny have once again added buttons to the back of the shoulder straps to allow you to shorten the straps of the dress for a better fit, should you need to. I love that kind of smart thinking in a dress, even more so as the buttons themselves are the same as the cute glazed little wooden numbers lining the centre front panel of the dress. They’re only decorative as the dress closes with a back zipper topped by hook and eye, thank goodness, because I dislike having to wrestle with a dozen buttons to get in and out of a dress. Plus, as if you needed any more, there’s pockets.
The full swing skirt can take a medium fullness petticoat happily, and at 28.5 inches long it’s a great length for 5ft 7″ not-so-little ol’ me. I opted for this dress in the 16/XL and feel it fits true to Hell Bunny’s usual slightly large sizing. The waist flat measures 36 inches with stretch to 38 inches and the bust flat measures 42 inches with stretch to 46 inches. That reasonable amount of stretch in the fabric make this dress a really comfortable wear, my top priority right under ‘pretty’ when selecting my dresses. This dress, thankfully, has both.
The Tahiti 50s dress comes in sizes S-4XL for £42.99, discount code AMYMAY20!% will get you 20% off any order from Hellbunny.com. This print also comes in the Tahiti circle skirt available in the same size range. Hell Bunny ship internationally, and also have stockists all over the world.
I didn’t think I needed this one, but darn now I kinda do. I keep trying to look past it, but I can’t help feeling it will be perfect for a honeymoon in Mauritius…

Considering I spend my life telling people ‘shut up, I’m fucking adorable’ it’s probably not often I don’t feel that way, lmao #obnoxiousamy

What a gorgeous dress. I’m also envious of your cardigan collection. Is there any shade you don’t own?!

Thank you so much!!
I’ve been looking for ages for vintage style dresses for my holiday in August and this dress is perfect! I probably wouldn’t have bought it at full price but your discount code made it an absolute steal, I just hope it looks as good on me as it does on you!
Thank you also for providing the measurements for it I’m never sure whether to go for an L or XL because of my chest.
