People often complain about how long and difficult January is, but I mostly just enjoyed slowly plodding my way through the sweets from my Christmas stocking and making the most of the downtime before the SS19 releases begin. It’s been really nice to have the time to balance relaxation and productivity that isn’t blog-centric, so I’ve enjoyed January on the whole.
Update: The UK government has recently updated their rules concerning the transparency of gifted items/paid for promotions for social media influencers. I don’t accept paid promotions/ads, but I do accept gifted items in exchange for providing honest blog review features. In the interest of extending that new added transparency to this blog as well, I’ll be marking any previously gifted items within these outfit round ups as such. I’ve changed the format of the outfit breakdowns in an attempt to make such details and disclaimers easy for you to read.

Red roses might remind you of Belle or Aurora, but this queen is happy to take on the cold without a beast or a prince, just a pair of warm boots and some sass.
There’s almost no opening pre-amble I can give for this coat, because it is practically too perfect for words. A winter coat that combines my love of faux fur trims, elegant but detachable capes, and genuine winter practicality of providing warmth, having pockets and being able to fit over my full-skirted swing dresses? HELL BUNNY YOU HAVE SLAIN ME.
That’s right, it’s time! Let’s find out which 3 lucky lovelies have won a Dolly & Dotty soft nylon petticoat of their choice…
I remember one of things that made me feel like a ‘proper pinup’ when I was transitioning to my vintage style was finally beginning to add a petticoat under my skirts and dresses. It was something that felt like it needed a small splash of courage because it was just such an unusual under-thing to have in one’s wardrobe as a 20-something in the 2010s, but once I got my first petticoat there was no looking back.
