I’m Miss Amy May, a vintage-style enthusiast who loves mid-century clothing, a knife-sharp eyeliner wing, and red lipstick. Having embraced the style during my mid-20s almost by accident, I’ve enjoyed documenting my style here and on Instagram as I’ve honed and developed it, and am always happy to give tips, tricks and advice to any ladies new to the style wondering whether they can ‘pull it off’–to which my answer is always, ‘yes, you can.’
As an inhabitant of the English countryside I’m primarily an online shopper in most regards for purposes of ease and accessible, but most especially when it comes to purchasing vintage-inspired items, as accessing them online is the easiest option for me as a rural, plus-sized woman. As a result, a large focus here on my blog is reviewing vintage-inspired clothing and accessories for quality and fit, because I love to be able to help my fellow pinups suss out whether their pending purchase is worth their hard earned money, as well as help answer any sizing queries they may have. I also review beauty products and share hair styling tips for those still trying to get the hang of mid-century hairstyles.
I’m lucky enough to have modelled for Deadly Is The Female, Vendula London, Voodoo Vixen, and for In Retrospect magazine, the latter of which I have been featured in, in addition to Vintage Life Magazine.
Here on the blog I’ve worked with many of my favourite vintage inspired companies, including Miss Candyfloss, Hell Bunny, Collectif Clothing, Unique Vintage, The Pretty dress Company, Voodoo Vixen, Malco Modes petticoats, Heart of Haute, Vivien of Holloway, Zoe Vine, Hearts and Found, LoveURLook and numerous others. Highlighting small businesses, especially those that are women-owned, is one of great pleasures and privileges afforded me here in my tiny corner of the internet.
It’s important to me to build up other women, answer any questions they may have, give honest advice, and to help share the joy and positivity that I feel so enriches our vintage community. This style is an attitude and a love, more so than it is a pretty dress worn the right way, and I encourage anyone who shares that feeling to indulge their passion without worrying what the rest of the world may think of it.

Aww hi lovely! Thanks for leaving such a sweet message ❤ The dragon print wiggle dress is the Garden Party dress in dragon print by Pinup Girl Clothing. It's discontinued now but if you join their PUG Swap/sell group on Facebook you might get lucky to find someone putting one up for trade or sale eventually. Otherwise I suggest searching ebay and saving your search with alerts to see whenever someone lists a new PUG item. You never know when you'll get lucky 🙂 x

Hi there Miss Amy May..great blog I love reading all the fantastic advice & support surrounding the pinup world. You are a very beautiful Pinup Girl ;o) I was just wondering if you could give me a little more info on the sizing of the PUG Amanda Dress? I am around your size and can squeeze into a Large in most cases but some times have trouble in the shoulders & arms in a dress with sleeves. I have the jenny dress in a Large which is very snug around the waist but can get by with the right undergarments! Are you wearing a L or XL in your photos? I love the Red, White & Blue version and hope to purchase soon if the fit is right x
