About

I’m Miss Amy May, a vintage style enthusiast who loves retro clothing, a knife-sharp eyeliner wing, and spending too much time on Instagram looking at other stylish pinups. Having embraced the style only during my mid-20s almost out of nowhere, I’m keen to document my style as I hone and develop it, and I’m always happy to give tips, tricks and advice to any ladies new to the style or wondering whether they can ‘pull it off’–to which my answer is always, ‘yes, you can.’20150701_104011000_iOS

Body positivity is important to me, so in amongst the dress reviews–in which I will always give an honest opinion and advice on fit particularly for ladies who, like me, may find plus-sizing during online shopping difficult–you’ll also find blog posts about embracing your body, style and self for all that it and you are. Life is too short not to wear pretty dresses if you want to, and it is also too short not to eat cake and love your shape.

I’m lucky enough to have modeled for Deadly Is The Female, Vendula London, Voodoo Vixen, and for In Retrospect magazine, the latter of which I have been featured in, in addition to Vintage Life Magazine.

On the blog I’ve worked with many of my favourite vintage inspired companies, including Pinup Girl Clothing, Collectif, Unique Vintage, Voodoo Vixen, Malco Modes petticoats, Queen of Heartz, Heart of Haute, Vivien of Holloway, Zoe Vine, Goldie’s Clothing, LoveURLook and numerous others.

inretrospect2It’s important to me to build up other women, answer any questions they may have, give honest advice and help, and to help share the joy and positivity that I feel so enriches our vintage community. This style is an attitude and a love, more so than it is a pretty dress worn the right way, and I encourage anyone who shares that attitude and love to indulge that passion without worrying what the rest of the world may think of it.

    • Aww hi lovely! Thanks for leaving such a sweet message ❀ The dragon print wiggle dress is the Garden Party dress in dragon print by Pinup Girl Clothing. It's discontinued now but if you join their PUG Swap/sell group on Facebook you might get lucky to find someone putting one up for trade or sale eventually. Otherwise I suggest searching ebay and saving your search with alerts to see whenever someone lists a new PUG item. You never know when you'll get lucky πŸ™‚ x

  4. Hi there Miss Amy May..great blog I love reading all the fantastic advice & support surrounding the pinup world. You are a very beautiful Pinup Girl ;o) I was just wondering if you could give me a little more info on the sizing of the PUG Amanda Dress? I am around your size and can squeeze into a Large in most cases but some times have trouble in the shoulders & arms in a dress with sleeves. I have the jenny dress in a Large which is very snug around the waist but can get by with the right undergarments! Are you wearing a L or XL in your photos? I love the Red, White & Blue version and hope to purchase soon if the fit is right x
