Wall of Roses [Hearts and Found]

Give me tie shoulder straps or give me death.

Okay, maybe I’m not quite dramatic about my sundresses, but still, I like a bow feature, which this Kelly dress by Hearts and Found offers. Generally speaking, I like everything from Hearts and Found, because come on; customisable dresses in cute prints, perfect cuts and always of pockets? What isn’t there to like about this wonderful woman-owned business? If there are any the Kelly dress isn’t one of them.

You guys must know by know how much I love Hearts and Found. Being able to order an item of clothing made to my exact measurements in the fabric of my choice never gets old, but with such excellent customer service included in the experience it’s always a joy. Owner Marjorie is pleasant and easy to communicate with via her Etsy storefront and is always meticulous in double checking that your order specifics are correct before she and her team begin making. It means if you accidentally select the wrong skirt length or size in the drop down menu the mistake will be caught early, not realised with deep disappointment as you try on a dress you’ve been excitedly waiting for after arrival. (Yes, Marjorie has caught a mistake in one of my previous orders wherein I selected the wrong length for my dress. What an angel that woman is!)

The Kelly dress is the near twin of the Grace dress, made different only by their straps. While the Grace dress sports adjustable spaghetti straps that feature a slider, the Kelly dress has spaghetti straps that can be tied on the shoulder, allowing for equal adjustment with the addition of an adorable bow. There’s pockets, a feature of every Hearts and Found dress style I’ve ordered, and the pleated bust is fairly modest, not a given of this style of sundress which can often be lower cut. This roses fabric is cotton and the dress is fully lined, so it’s a breathable wear, perfect for summer.

The great thing about a dress shape like this is that while it is undeniably vintage inspired to ladies like us who love the fashions of eras passed, for the average shopper this is just a cute sun dress that would be a winning ticket for summer. You can style it a million ways, particularly given that you can choose whatever colour or print you want it made in, and a dress like that is always a great investment in your wardrobe.

The Kelly dress can be made in any fabric in equivalent sizes XS-4X or custom sized to your measurements, ranging in price from $80-90 (approximately £63-71.) Hearts and Found update their store with new fabrics and clothing styles regularly, as well as frequently offering discount codes of 15-30%, so it’s worth favouriting their store on Etsy and following them on social media (Instagram and Facebook.)

  1. How do you wash this? I have a dress in the same print and the blue colour bled into the white, even though I followed the care instructions. It’s not too bad right no but I want to avoid it getting worse next time I wash it!
