Spring and summer will mean different things to different people, but something I think we could probably all agree on (at least here in the Northern hemisphere) is that it means flowers. And, if you’re a lover of all things chic, summer whites. So, what happens when you combine those two design concepts? Why, this fun Golightly dress, that’s what.

The Golightly dress is a staple design in Unique Vintage’s line, released each year in new prints, fabrics and colours. This white eyelet fabric is embroidered with both full red roses and the outline of larger white flowers in white thread. It is utterly darling, practically boasting its compatibility with fresh spring and summer days. Both picnic and beach ready, it’s a sweet little number that can be worn with or without straps, layered up, and most certainly twirled in. 

The sweetheart neckline is adorned with a decorative bow and the bust is gathered, automatically giving a cinched look to the fitted waist in comparison. The full swing skirt has hidden side pockets, our collective forever-favourite, I’m sure you will all agree. Being so full, a medium-full petticoat is obviously a welcome option should you wish to bump up the volume. As previously mentioned the shoulder straps are removable, but they’re also adjustable, owing to the 3 button hole options at the end of the straps which allow you to choose the strap length that best fits your needs.  

I asked for this dress in my usual Unique Vintage size 2X/18. There are 2 shirred elastic panels at the back of the dress, one on each side of the zip, that allow a ton of stretch through the bodice. As a result the bust flat measures almost 38 inches but has stretch to roughly 45 inches. The waist is just shy of 38 inches measured flat, but has stretch to 42 inches. The shoulder straps are 17 inches long at their shortest setting and almost 20 inches at their longest setting. The skirt is 26 inches long. This dress closes with a hidden back zip topped with a hook and eye.
