There are several things that Miss Candyfloss offer that other vintage inspired brands just don’t. For one, they have a proper appreciation for mustard and teal, which alone wins my affection. Another is their use of the peplum, elegantly incorporated into dresses, jumpsuits and blazers alike with joyful regularity. Yet another is this double-collar design, often employed with contrasting fabrics for maximum impact, as is the case with this Tuva-sun blazer. Just looking at it, I dare you to tell me any other brand is offering what Miss Candyfloss does.

It goes without saying that this blazer is a statement piece, and yet I’ll say it: this blazer is a statement piece. The rich mustard yellow, the pleated peplum detail in the back, the plaid second collar (which perfectly matches the plaid of the Alize-Moss dress, also released this season)–all unusual details which cumulate to create a truly unique piece. I often feel a bit lost when styling solid colour dresses, as the urge to make them ‘pop’ means I find myself reaching for patterned or printed cardigans or accessories, so I love that the plaid in the double collar and matching cuffs will automatically add that element of visual interest to any plain dress or skirt I want to wear.
Apart from being a lovely piece that will stun in the wardrobe of vintage or repro lover, it’s also a great work wear option for folks who have to dress smartly and modestly for their day jobs. The light flare to the peplum means the cut of this blazer will work with literally any bottom: fitted or wide legged trousers, both pencil or swing dresses and skirts, it will compliment them all, creating different silhouettes that all offer fun as well as class.
I ended up with this blazer in the 3X. There’s stretch in the fabric, so a 2X would have fit me just fine, but this 3X allows me to layer my thicker winter sleeved dresses under it with less likelihood of it triggering my urge to yank at seams that feel too tight. Miss Candyfloss provide detailed size charts for each product of their line, so checking the size chart for this piece on its product page will make it easy for you to figure out which size is for you. I can confirm the size chart is bang on, as my 3X flat measures 38.5 inches flat in the waist with stretch to 42, while the bust is flat at 47 inches with stretch to 49.5 inches. Like all Miss Candyfloss pieces, it’s excellent quality and made in Europe.
The Tuva-Sun blazer comes in sizes XS-5XL. Miss Candyfloss ship worldwide, and have select stockists all over the world.
