When it comes to the company I keep, I’m a real girl’s girl. I enjoy talking about makeup, hair and clothes, all the clichéd things that then take on a whole new life of their own when you’re someone who’s adopted a vintage style. Luckily, my pinup friends are happy to indulge me in these subjects, and none more so than my bestie Giselle.
Beautiful, whip-crack smart and stylish in all manners, Giselle is most definitely my better friend-half. We share a lot of the same loves and opinions, one of which is that we adore The Pretty Dress Company. When the opportunity presented itself for us to twin in one of our favourite pieces from their Summer line, the Saint Tropez dress, we needed zero convincing.
The Saint Tropez pencil and swing dresses are exactly as chic and classic as the name would suggest. Available in white and silver stripes, as we chose, white and pink, or pink and silver, in every colour it’s a simple dress that still easily stands out. While I’m a swing dress girl and Giselle more of a wiggle fan, we recently donned our matching frocks during a weekend of fun together to show you just how wonderful this dress is.

Amy: I own a few swing dresses by The Pretty Dress Company now and this Saint Tropez lives up to the same high standard of great quality that all my others have exhibited. The bodice is lined, thickly structured and boned, making it supportive and creating a flattering cinched waist silhouette. The skirt–which features pockets deep enough to fit your phone, modern pinups that we all are–flows from the waist in wide pleats.
There’s room for a medium volume petticoat should you wish to wear one, though it does lay beautifully without, and the skirt is lined. I just love that the design is really simple is yet so unique and eye-catching. An immediate new wardrobe favourite for me!
I opted for this dress in my usual TPDC size 16 and the fit is consistent with their size chart. The waist flat measures 33.5 with stretch to around 35inches, so there’s some extra give there than on the size chart. Though the bust fits up to 40 inch bust true to size and there isn’t much extra give there, so you might find you need to size up if you have a substantial bust since TPDC sizes do generally run smaller than on the high street.
Giselle: I’m one of those people who have an ongoing countdown to autumn. Not for the crisp leaves, apple picking and pumpkin spice lattes but for purely sartorial reasons. I was just about to pack up my summer wardrobe when the Saint Tropez dress came into my life. Evoking feelings of strolling down the French Riviera, it’s an absolute stunner. I got a UK 10 and it fit really well but I could have sized down into an 8 for more of a form-fitting look, especially as there’s enough give in the fabric to allow for sizing down
The prom Saint Tropez dress costs £150 in all 3 colourways of silver and white stripes, white and pink stripes, or pink and silver stripes, available in UK sizes 8-16. The pencil Saint Tropez dress is also available in the same striped colour combinations and costs £125, available in the same size range. The Pretty Dress Company ship internationally, and have select global stockists of their designs.
So gorgeous!!

You both look beautiful, and I love both of these versions of the dress! I love seeing it on two different body types, and in two different silhouettes! It looks amazing both ways!

You both look gorgeous, I love how Giselle rocks that wiggle dress, but I’m more of a swing dress type of gal myself so I’d go for the swing dress 🙂 Pretty Dress Company has so many beautiful dresses I would have lots of trouble choosing which dress(es) I want, because to be honest: I want all of them!
Your background is also gorgeous, perfectly suitable for that type of dress.
