They say everyone has one base neutral colour they most utilise in their wardrobe, either black, navy or brown, and I’ve always been someone that is drawn in equal parts to navy and black, with no gravitational pull towards brown at all. This autumn, though, I’ve begun to notice that I’ve finally begun to appreciate brown and all it has to offer in complimenting the shades of fall especially. With this Lady V London dress that feeling became fully solidified, because look at this precious example of a golden fall evening personified!
Dress:Golden Leaf Isabella dress C/O Lady V London

The print on this dress is just gorgeous, and combined with the flattering but simple cut of the dress itself it really lends itself to being worn in a variety of ways. It’s a versatile style that can be styled to be work appropriate as well as dressed up nicely socially, in addition to being comfortable enough to be worn casually when you need to get out of the house quickly but don’t want to resort to a t-shirt and jeans. It would be easy to style it with all manner of brown shades, but a variety of greens, rust orange and mustard would all compliment the tones beautifully.
The Isabella dress itself is a lovely style, featuring a sweetheart neckline, contrast trimming, and a removable contrast bow at the bust. The skirt has a gentle flair so it won’t overwhelm ladies who prefer a slimmer volume skirt, but there’s just enough room to get a little lift off your legs with a slim volume petticoat if you feel naked without one. It closes with a back zip, releasing us all from the trauma of trying to get a side zip done up (why is that always so hard even when you have helping hands??) and it’s easy to layer up for extra warmth as the months turn colder heading into winter. It’s also machine washable, which wins out any day of the week over dry clean only pieces.
I asked for this in the size 18, though both the 16 or 18 would have worked for me due to the stretch in the fabric. The waist measures 36 flat with stretch to 39, while the bust is flat at 42 inches with stretch to 46, making it very true to the size chart. The skirt is 26 inches long.
The Gold Leaf Isabella dress comes in UK sizes 8 to 28/30 for £45, or in the same size range in 13 other prints, including multiple florals, tartan, polka dot and novelty prints. Lady V London ship internationally and have a range of stockists.
Wow! This is a great outfit
