If you’ve been following this blog or my Instagram account for a long time then no doubt you’ll remember my signature red sparkly shoes. I had them in both sexy-skyscraper heeled and much-more-forgiving ballet flat forms, both pairs painstakingly and lovingly decorated with thousands of scarlet flat-backed crystals, each hand placed by myself over the course of many evenings. I wore them with almost every outfit, declaring happily that red goes with almost everything, I swear, but they make few appearances these days.
The reason is not that I have forsaken my love of a red accessory, but merely that crystal covered shoes are prone to losing crystals over time, leaving them looking a bit sad. It’s possible to replace the bare areas with fresh crystals, a patch-up job I undertook many a time, but eventually I just needed to make myself a fresh pair of the flats entirely and I lacked the time and motivation necessary to devote the several hours needed to that endeavor. What I needed, really, was a sparkly red shoe that could replace my signature crystal flats without losing any of the fun twinkle, while gaining a better sense of longevity. Hotter Shoes is here to answer that call.

The Meghan shoes are part of their capsule Royal Limited Edition range, and they’re as pretty, practical, and charming as their namesake, our new Duchess of Sussex. Sussex is known for its rolling countryside, gorgeous Sussex Downs hills, and quaint seaside towns, most especially Brighton and Eastbourne. It’s the only county I’ve ever called home and I have the same doe-y heart eyes for it as we saw Meghan give Harry at their wedding. That’s similar to how I now feel about these Meghan shoes.
Ready to dazzle as part of any outfit whether casual or dressy, these shoes sport a red glitter finish that, unlike my homemade crystal-covered pumps, won’t flake off or shed their sparkle over time. Their prettiness is further elevated by the rich red suede knot detail that decorates the front of each shoe, that luxe finish echoed in the suede heel caps to tie the design together.
While their loveliness is in no doubt, the Meghan pumps are also just as prepared to provide comfort as they are a dose of glitter. Their leather insoles are cushioned, giving your feet a little help even on a long day atop them, and the rubber soles are lightweight and flexible, so you won’t spend an age breaking them in and suffering for it. The 20mm rubber heel gives just the right touch of elevation and support that cheap, fully-flat ballet pumps fail to provide (to your feet’s detriment.) These shoes are all about keeping your feet comfortable and properly supported without fuss, leaving the pretty design to do all the talking so that you don’t have to–no ‘Can we sit down? My feet are killing me’ here.
I asked for these in my usual UK size 7 and they’re a perfect fit. No pinching or rubbing, they were ready to serve their duty as my new signature ruby red shoes straight out of the box, and so they will. Ladies who can’t or won’t wear heels will likely find these cute pumps will serve them just as well if given the chance.
The Meghan shoes come in UK sizes 3-9 and are available in store or to order online at Hotter.com.
Love how you dress, so beautiful! I know it’s all about the shoes, but I also love your bag. Gorgeous.

Right?! The velvet knot is what really sold me on these shoes. I’ve seen plenty of other plain sparkly flats but none of them were as cute as my crystal flats so I passed on them. These, though? Adorbs!
