There’s almost no opening pre-amble I can give for this coat, because it is practically too perfect for words. A winter coat that combines my love of faux fur trims, elegant but detachable capes, and genuine winter practicality of providing warmth, having pockets and being able to fit over my full-skirted swing dresses? HELL BUNNY YOU HAVE SLAIN ME.

Now that you’ve seen the pictures I feel certain you must be ready to join me in my obsession with this coat. I mean, do I need to repeat myself? It has faux fur trim on the cuffs and the collar collar of the coat, and on the hem of the cape. Said cape is detachable, able to be worn with this coat to elevate the winter wonderland princess levels to Elsa–or, if you prefer, Anastasia–or paired with other items just to function as a killer addendum to an outfit. The coat itself is warm, a great length and fits swing dresses without straining. ALSO IT HAS POCKETS. SEE, NOW YOU’RE MAKING ME SHOUT, BECAUSE THIS COAT IS EVERYTHING AND I JUST CAN’T CONTAIN MYSELF SENSIBLY WHEN TALKING OR THINKING ABOUT IT.
Okay, wait, give me a second, I’ll breathe. Deep breaths.
Cool it, Amy. It’s just a coat. Don’t be weird.
It is just a coat, but it’s a great one, and despite the many wonderful coats I have, all of which offer different aesthetics and levels of warmth for different weathers, this has easily and swiftly become my new favourite. If you don’t already see why that is then I think I should just give up.
In regards to sizing, I opted for my usual Hell Bunny size 18/2XL to make sure my often-difficult chubby upper arms, broad back, and bust all fit comfortably even with layers. I’ve ripped the lining of many a coat in the past because my measurements on my upper body always test coats made in the size that best fits my waist, but the 18 in this coat is a great fit all over. The sleeves, at 25.5 inches long from shoulder to the end of the fur-trimmed cuff, are a wonderful length on me that keep my wrists warm and don’t awkwardly ride up. Giving exact measurements of the outside of a thick coat isn’t as useful as with a dress, but for reference if you want to compare to one of your existing coats, the waist flat measures 41 inches.
The Capulet coat comes in sizes XS-4XL, although currently I can only find the plus sizes available to order from Hellbunny.com, where discount code AMYMAY20!% will get you 20% off any and all orders. Hell Bunny has online and brick-and-mortar store stockists around the world, so you may also be able to find this coat from stockists more local to your country/area.
