Did I want to open this post with a joke about Hamilton? Yes, of course I did. But we don’t have time for such musical shenanigans, because Hell Bunny’s Autumn/Winter line for this season is bursting with incredible pieces and we need to start looking at them immediately! There is almost no time to spare, that’s how much good shiz they’ve got on offer!
Let’s start with the skirt, because it was one of the first things to drop from this season and is, as you can very plainly see, flawless. Available in green, black, and burgundy, it’s a versatile piece that will fit beautifully into the colour palette of almost any winter wardrobe-so much so that I’ve decided I must have them all! I’ve now bought the burgundy version and hope to snap up the black as well, because come on, what’s not to love?
It’s made from corduroy fabric that both looks and feels lush, with a medium weight that can be worn comfortably through any cooler months. The flared shape will flatter all. And there’s POCKETS. So, see? Irresistible. It’s a staple piece, ready to paired with both blouses and sweaters, layered with vintage jackets or cosy cardigans, rocked with boots or sweet flats. The options are endless and so is my love for it.
As is my love for the Gabriella top, this killer pussy-bow blouse that mixes velvet and chiffon to perfection. The plushness of the velvet bodice will look lovely year round, clearly, but always feels especially apt when heading into cooler weather. A feel of luxury and refinement are added to this piece by the sheer chiffon bishop sleeves and pussybow necktie, the latter of which creates a keyhole neckline, adding just a hint of sexiness to what is otherwise a very modest piece. The sleeve cuffs are an echo of velvet and fasten with a black rounded button. There’s gathering in the sleeves at the shoulder seam, giving a touch of volume. It’s an elegant top that can be styled for almost any era, even by those of you who perhaps aren’t even all that interested in vintage aesthetics.
In regards to sizing, I’m wearing the Gabriella top in the XL/16, a comfortable and stretchy fit due to the velvet. The waist flat measures 38 inches with stretch to 45, while the bust lays flat at 41 inches with stretch to 48 inches. I asked for the Jefferson skirt in 2XL/18 and it flat measures 38 inches as a firm fit with no stretch, and is 26.5 inches long. It has belt loops but doesn’t come with a belt, so you can add your own choice of belt depending upon the look you’re going for–I used the velvet belt that came off another of my Hell Bunny dresses from a past season. Both pieces can be machine washed.
The Gabriella top comes in sizes XS-4XL, as does the Jefferson skirt which is available in green, black and burgundy. Discount code Amymay20!% will get you 20% off any orders on Hellbunny.com, including sale. Hell Bunny have stockists around the world.
