What’s this, sunshine? When I tell you we haven’t had sun at the weekend in weeks it’s no joke–lately it’s been all rain almost all the time, so my hair has been nothing but frizz, the blog has been near silent because I’ve been unable to shoot, and my garden now has what can only be described as swamp-patches. But behold, with a bit of sun not only do I feel lighter and brighter, but I get to share one of my favourite things with you; new Miss Candyfloss. Roll on spring and brand new pretties!

The Finella-Lee dress boasts the same stunning neckline shape that I feel in love with on the Monroe-Lee dress from this past winter–and boasts is the right word here, because that bust shape steals all glances, hearts and daydreams. Flattering in the superlative, the sweetheart bust line, the ruched cup detailing, and the acute angle of the sleeves joining the bust to the neck together create the effect of being both sexy and sweet, both classy and seductive. It’s my favourite neckline I’ve ever had on a dress and the fact that I get to own it now in a gentle springtime version as well as my sleeved winter version makes me infinitely happy.
The wonderful thing about this dress is that not only is it clearly a dress that will stand-out in spring and summer, but it also works beautifully at this time of year when it’s still a bit chilly and a bit (or a lot) wet. Sure, it’s miserable outside sometimes, but because the background of this delicate floral print is navy it’s easy to style this dress as I have done here with boots and a complimentary cardigan to make it a bit more weather-appropriate, achieving a look that feels hopeful and charming without eliciting any ‘I can’t believe she’s wearing that in this weather’ remarks. The print and the dress shape combined create the feel of a breath of fresh air, and all the colours in the print allow you to create myriad of outfit combinations.
The fabric belt that comes with this dress is a light green, the result of mixing together lime and olive, and though it perfectly picks out one of the greens in the fabric’s print I know I’ll be using it on plenty of other dresses I own. It has metal grommets to keep your belt set in place, and for the first time in my memory Miss Candyfloss have added a loop to keep the end of the belt in place during wear. Speaking of new additions, following on from their introduction in many pieces from this past winter’s line, this dress also has pockets in the skirt, huzzah! Said skirt has wide box pleats and is delightfully full, looking lovely whether worn without a petticoat or with one. It can handle a medium-full petticoat easily.
I asked for this dress in my usual Miss Candyfloss 2XL and it’s a great fit. The bust flat measures 46 inches with stretch to approximately 50 inches, while the waist flat measures 36.5 inches with stretch to 40. The skirt is 28 inches long. The armholes are 22 inches in circumference and the cap sleeves are 17 inches in circumference. As always with Miss Candyfloss, the quality is exceptional, and this dress is also made in Europe.
The Finella-Lee dress comes in sizes XS-2XL.
UGH ITS JUST SO GOOOOOOOOOD. And I know I sound like a broken record, but it suits you so SO SO SO DAMN WELL!
Hahaha I appreciate your enthusiastic compliments always 💕
