I’ve developed a real thing lately for flutter sleeves. They’re comfortable no matter your size, they give great upper arm coverage whilst looking delicate and feminine, and the dresses they’re apart of can often be styled both casually and for events. Saying all that, flutter sleeve dresses aren’t one of the most common shapes in the vintage reproduction world, so I was super pleased to find this leopard printed beauty from Hell Bunny. Delicate femininity and the powerful sass of leopard print? Yes please!

This dress is such an incredible piece for throwing on at moment’s notice and being able to instantly create a great outfit that’s easy to wear. The stretch fabric means it’s beyond comfortable, so much so that I chose to wear it last weekend on my 3.5 hour drive home from a weekend away in Somerset, and despite being a big fidgeter it kept me comfy and cool the whole way. The flutter sleeves mean it will be brilliant for wear in spring and summer (if the sun ever does arrive here in England, which does feel a bit unlikely at the dreary present, I grant you,) but it’s possible to layer it up for winter wear without getting awkward bumps or lumps from the flutter sleeves under other layers, just be sure to do some minor adjusting if you find the sleeves are bunching up.
The cross-over style bust is flattering on every body type and allows some extra room for fuller busts, with no doubt phenomenal cleavage resulting. Matching fabric ties are attached at each side of the waist, so you can either tie them behind you to cinch your waist or you can wrap the belt all the way around to create a matching belt tied in the front, as I’ve shown in the above pictures. If you’re wearing it with a jacket or a cardigan you could even tie the belt behind you and sneakily add a different belt to add variety to your look, which I’ve also shown in the pictures.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t take a little time to dote on the leopard print itself. This leopard print is the same one Hell Bunny have used on many other pieces, from skirts to peasant tops to capri pants, and it looks wonderful on them all. The dark swathes of the print mixed with the lighter patches give it a moodier, more casual vibe than some leopard print you see out there, and successfully avoids the ‘trashy leopard’ trap of looking cheap. The fabric and cut of this dress doesn’t lend itself to wear over a voluminous petticoat but if, like me, you don’t feel quite right without at least a little lift away from the legs then you can fit a slim volume petticoat–I’m wearing one in the above pictures.
I asked for this dress in my usual Hell Bunny size 2XL/18 and it’s a great fit. As previously mentioned the stretch in the fabric not only makes it incredibly comfortable to wear but will also make it easy to get the right size. The waist flat measures 39 inches with stretch to 46 while the bust flat measures 44 inches with stretch to 52. The skirt is 23.5 inches long, so at 5 ft 7 it hits me at the knee.
The Eartha Leo dress is available in sizes XS-4XL and discount code Amymay20!% will get you 20% off Hellbunny.com orders, and can be used repeatedly. If you love this dress shape but leopard print isn’t for you, Hell Bunny have this dress style in 3 floral prints (with the minor difference of having a solid V-neck rather than the cross-over bust) and amazingly these dresses are made from recycled polyester fibres made from recycled plastic bottles!
