Pinafore Time [Hell Bunny]

It’s time for plaaaaids and cheeecks and tartaaaans and–oh, wait, you can’t tell I’m sing-songing that to myself as I type, like an excited child, can you? Oh right. Well…this is awkward. Let’s just agree not to reference this part in future and move right on to the pictures.

Hell Bunny can always be relied upon to make some great pinafore dresses in their Autumn/Winter lines, of which I already have a couple, but this is my first time ever donning a pinafore skirt. I always think they look so great with jumpers especially, but gotdamn, I am just not a jumper person. As in, I think I own…one, possibly two? I might now have to actually buy some–at least a black one, right? Gotta start with the classic.

One of the great things about this Eddystone pinafore skirt is that it’s super easy to remove the pinafore straps to yield additional versatility in wearing the skirt alone. This is done simply by unbuttoning the straps in the front and back–said buttons also offer full adjustability of fit, because you can choose which button-hole to use to get the best fit. Even worn alone this skirt is a stunner, thanks to the uniqueness of the print. To me it feels like a traditional check viewed through the blurry eyes of someone who hasn’t put on their glasses yet that morning, and I really love that. If you like this fabric print but don’t fancy this skirt, though, there’s also an Eddystone dress.

There are, of course, pockets, glorious, glorious pockets. The pleats in the skirt mean there’s room for a petticoat if you’d like to wear one, but I opted not to for a more casual feel. The buttons that run through the centre of the skirt down it’s entire length are the way you get in and out of it.

I asked for this skirt in my usual Hell Bunny 2XL/18 and it runs true to size like all their skirts. The waist flat measures 37 inches with zero give. The skirt is 25 inches long, and the pinafore straps measure 35 inches on their shortest setting and 37 and 39 inches on their other respesctive settings.

The Eddystone Pinafore skirt comes in sizes XS-4X. Discount code Amymay20!% will get you 20% off all orders, including sale, and can be used as many times as you’d like.
