It’s been a long time since I’ve owned a dress and bolero set, and my god, I didn’t realise how much I’d missed it! Hark, let us wait no longer, behold!
Dress: Myrtle Green Snowdrops Annie dress gifted by Dolly & Dotty
Bolero: Myrtle Green Snowdrops Betty Bolero gifted by Dolly & Dotty
Brooch: Vintage
The Annie dress is very similar to Dolly & Dotty’s Amanda dress, which I reviewed last week. Like Amanda, it boasts a box-pleated full swing skirt, pockets in said skirt, and a flattering fitted, sleeveless bodice. The main difference is that Annie has a bateau neckline in place of Amanda’s scooped neck, so it’s just that touch more modest for those ladies or circumstance that require it. It’s available in over 30 prints, but this Myrtle Green Snowdrop print in particular makes my heart go pitter patter, especially when paired with the matching bolero jacket.
My old jacket and dress sets I used to own were all short-sleeved summer sets, so this long-sleeved winter set is something very special for me. The Bettie jacket features an incredibly chic standing collar, which is so gorgeous it makes me feel a bit squee. The sleeves are cuffed, fastened with a single button, and it’s well-sized into the plus sizes, which is a joyful relief. It matches the Annie dress perfectly, obviously and of course. Together they make a truly striking ensemble, one that is bound to elicit compliments and possibly even gasps everywhere you go.
While this fabric has a sheen to it, it doesn’t feel as relegated-to-evening as satin typically does, most likely due to the rich tones of its floral print. In fact, I dare you not to pull this duo out for all manner of events, both day and night. I know I will.
I asked for both the jacket and the dress in a size 18. The waist of the dress measures 37 inches flat with no stretch while the bust measures 43 inches, also no stretch. The skirt is 27 inches long. The armholes in the jacket are 20 inches in circumference and the sleeve is 18 inches across the bicep.
The Annie dress comes in over 30 prints, while the Betty jacket is available in 6 prints that each match a printed dress. If you love this Snowdrop print but aren’t sold on the green background, it also comes in a black version in the Betty jacket and Amanda dress to achieve a similar combo, or in 3 other dress shapes and a top. The green version, though, does also come in one other dress style, a top and a skirt.

I LOVE this! It’s so sweet and honestly, a bolero and dress set is so different than a long sleeve dress. Obviously bc you can wear the dress sans bolero when it’s warm but it just has such a different look to it with the precious little jacket over it. The pattern is delightful, too!
