If you haven’t come across eShakti before, they’re a custom-make company that offer a wide array of clothing that can be customised to your tastes by selecting the neckline, sleeve style and skirt length you most prefer for each design. Everything can also be ordered either in standard sizes or customised to your own measurements, and in some cases you can even have the item of your choice made in the fabric of your choice in their new Fabric Customization feature. They regularly host sales and provide discount offers, a recent example of the latter spurring me on to order this chambray belted beauty made perfectly for simple, stylish summertime wear.
I’ve featured eShakti once before here on the blog, back when they only shipped to the USA and Canada. A third of my blog audience is from the USA alone, but for the rest of my readers it was somewhat of a cruelty to tell them of this reasonably priced, fully customisable shopping service that allowed you to order what you liked not just in your perfect size but also in the length, sleeve style and neckline that you wanted. I know, I’m sorry. It was justifiable consider my stats, but it was still a bit mean.
But, fear not, my little vintage crumpets, if you haven’t yet heard the latest eShakti news, I bring it to you with great joy: eShakti have massively expanded the countries to which they now ship. The UK, Singapore, the Netherlands, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, and UAE have now joined Canada and the USA as eligible for international shipping, and I fully expect further countries to be added to that list in coming months if their recent swift expansion is anything to go by.
So, in celebration of my now being able to order from their website without it necessitating one of my American friends agreeing to act as postal recipient and mail forwarder for me, I ordered myself a delightful new summery dress with one of their many regular promotional discounts on offer.
eShakti is a clothing website offering a wide range of dresses, tops and skirts, many of which are vintage inspired, and all of which are available to be customised to not only your own measurements and height, but also to the neckline, sleeve length and skirt length you want. You can also ask for zippers to be moved to/from the back or the side and have pockets removed (but what kind of crazy would opt for that?!) And this special customisation fee available on all pieces? It doesn’t cost an arm, a leg, or even your first born. Whether you want just a zipper moved or the entire piece made to your measurements as well as changing the length, neckline and sleeve type, all customisation costs just $9.95 per item. (Previously it has always been $7.50, but over time costs have inflated and they’ve had to implement their slightly higher fee from March 1st.)
They offer designs in tons of prints, colours and styles, all reasonably priced, often available on offer, and, of course, I’ve been dying to try them out for a while. They don’t ship to the UK, frustratingly, and hopefully that will change someday and soon, but I have readers all over the globe, plenty of which live in the USA and Canada, where eShakti ships to, so I wanted to check them out for you guys at least. So, while I was stateside in October last year, I bought 3 dresses in a 3 for 2 deal. Continue reading
