Fur Trimmed & Fabulous [Collectif Andrea]

Earlier this AW season Collectif released their Juliette dress, a gorgeous black pencil dress with faux fur trim on the neckline, cuffs and hemline. I swooned and coveted. It was so classic and chic. Warm too, I suspected. And of course it sold out quickly. So I was thrilled to see they were bringing out a matching skirt too. Sporting the same luxiourius faux fur hemline trim, the Andrea skirt has all the glamour of the Juliette dress with the additional versatility of a skirt.

And guess what? I love it.

This skirt is wiggly, chic, timeless and glamorous. I am so in love with it. It can be dressed up to ooze sexiness and glamour, or it can be worn on with a classic fitted jacket and vintage accessories for a gorgeous skirt-suit feel, especially if you echo the fur trim in a fur stole.

It’s a high-waisted pencil skirt that’s 29 inches long and made of a cosy textured fabric, so not only does it look really winter appropriate but is also super warm. There’s a demure back split and the faux fur trim is so glamorous and chic. There’s a matching peplum jacket available, the Deana, and I have my heart-eyes set on getting that too so I can own the most fabulous suit ever.

When it comes to fit, the size chart said it runs true to size and I felt the thick fabric didn’t look like it would have much stretch, so I chose to size into the 16 to be safe. It was the right choice. With my 46 inch hips and 33/34 waist, the size 14 likely would not have fit. This size 16 flat measures 17 in the waist and 20 in the hips, with the waist only stretching to 18 inches flat while the hips could stretch to 23 flat. Make sure to take your most recent measurements before you pick the right size to order.

The Andrea skirt costs £65 and is mostly out of stock on Collectif’s site at the moment, but they have 3 brick and mortar stores in the UK and you can sign up to be alerted when new stock of this item is added on the website by visiting the Andrea product page and clicking ‘Let me know when it’s back in stock’ found under ‘Item is out of stock.’ Additionally, Collectif have stockists all over the world.

  1. Great tips about the sizing, thanks – I might just put an order in because it looks so fab on you! I looked at the photos before reading your text and hadn’t realised it wasn’t a dress – but great that the skirt is high-waisted. I love the way you have styled it so classically. Oh, and I loved your last post about the US trip too – you looked pretty amazing throughout! Kx

    • Thank you, lovely! And I’m glad to be helpful with the sizing, that’s my number one goal in blogging, as I know shopping online can be hard but for a lot of us it’s the easiest or even only option to kit out our pinup wardrobes.

  2. Not that it NEEDS to be said that you look amazing and perfect here, but it should be said because it’s true! I’m not sure I’d get much wear out of a fur-trimmed skirt, so this is one of those dream glamour items that I’d snap up as fast as I could if I had a completely different lifestyle…

    • Aww! It’s definitely something that depends on the person and your own climate. Here it’s a perfect winter piece and I’m so excited about it, but I can understand it’s not something that everyone would get a ton of wear out of.
