If you’re a regular reader of this blog then you’ll know that pre-pandemic I used to upload a round up of the outfits I had worn each month. After covid-19 hit and the concept of having a social life evaporated, so did those round ups. I work as a warehouse supervisor, so when lockdown went into effect last spring I was furloughed for 3 months. During that time I busied myself with producing blog and social media content, and occasionally got to dress up for video call catch ups with loved ones. I also made an effort to dress up when I went to deliver groceries to my mum and an elderly neighbour, so I still documented those outfits for an April-May round up–there was, surprisingly, enough of them.
In June, though, I was recalled to work and everything was fairly flat-out from then until the New Year in terms of workload and remaining mental capacity. Beyond getting dolled up to safely shoot items for review here on the blog, there were no random days where I had the energy to get dressed up ‘just because I felt like it.’ Instead, I only got pinned up for video call catch ups with loved ones when I was in the mood to do so, Continue reading →
You guys, it’s been hot here. Well, the British version of hot. We’re talking 22-25°C if you go by the weather forecasts, but 31°C if believe the temperature dial on my best friend’s car, which she insists that we do because we’re British and pathetic and it makes us feel a bit better to say we’re suffering in 30+°C and not just 22°C.
Oh, and it was my birthday too, which means there was a bit of glam involved in some outfits. You know, whatevs. I’m old now so it’s barely even exciting (she says, despite the fact that she still has at least 4 celebrations and books her birthday off work.) Like I said, whatevs. All of this is to say, May was a rather nice month.
Spring is heeere (mostly) and it is glorious. I’ve loved fishing out my summer dresses from storage to swap them for my darker, heavier winter duds. Tropical prints, bright colours and pastels have made me so happy to throw on each time I go out, making me feel like spring even on days that the weather perhaps hasn’t done it’s part in representing the season. Plus, I’m so excited that even more SS17 releases will be trickling out over the next month or two, so bring on the summery dresses!
Another month passed, time for another outfit wrap up post! I was definitely feeling the arrival of spring and the sun this month, with brighter colours and plenty of florals.
