Kiko Milano 10hr Unlimited Stylo review + Swatches – Nars Powermatte Dupe

KIKO Milano 20 hour New Unlimited stylo lipstick swatches and review for shades 10 Universal Rose, 13 Fuchsia, 15 Classic Red, 17 Cherry Red, 24 Burgundy. NARS Powermatte dupe

I recently reviewed the Nars Powermatte lipstick, a product I love but simply cannot bring myself to use for daily-wear because I am stingy and £25 for 1.5g of product makes my heart sad. So, imagine my delight when I heard rumours that Kiko Milano (admittedly, I brand I had never heard of) make a matte lipstick that performs as a Powermatte dupe, and at only £8.99 for the same 1.5g of product. Obviously, I immediately ordered one in red, and was thrilled when it arrived as I found I loved it just as much as the Nars Powermatte. I ordered a few more shades to add to my collection and so here I am, writing you a review and ready to show you 5 swatches from their shade range of 24 colours Continue reading

Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Lipstick Review + Swatches

I love liquid lipsticks, so I can never resist trying a new release from drugstore brands just in case they are somehow better or on par with my absolute favourite lipstick, the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink. Recently I saw a couple of beauty influencers trying this new ColorStay Satin Ink liquid lip by Revlon over on Instagram, so of course I immediately hopped online and bought the 2 shades that seemed to most reflect my usual colour preferences.

The shade range for this lipstick is quite small, at least here in the UK, with just 6 shades available. Judging by the online photos and the colour of the packaging, I thought On a Mission was going to be a rich red and Silky Sienna was going to be a warm pink. Both shades are not accurately reflected by their packaging, which does not display a clear window looking into the formula itself but instead opaque plastic coloured inserts that Revlon have chosen to (inaccurately, in my opinion) reflect the shades. You can see this yourself with my picture above showing On A Mission on my lips and it’s packaging displayed in my hand. Still, that issue aside, I was excited to try the lipstick. Let’s look at how it performs. Continue reading

My Magic 7 – Top Lasting Lipsticks

I’m obsessed with lasting lipsticks. Once upon a time I didn’t wear lipstick ever and I was terrified of the idea of accidental smudging from forgetful touches in the same way you can sometimes forget you’re wearing eye makeup and accidentally threaten the integrity of your perfectly filled in brows with a mindless swipe. Now that I’m used to wearing lip products such a worry doesn’t concern me so much, but I do have steeply curved upper lips and a tendency to be overly expressive with my lips which combined means inner corner transfer of colour is a true threat. Plus, I do actually eat. Y’all know that. And I can’t be dealing with a lipstick that’s gonna wear half off every time I take a gulp of water or eat half a cookie. So I’m all about long-lasting lipsticks, especially if they’re affordable.

I’ve tried a hell of a lot of them, and more often than not I’ve come away feeling disappointed by the unmet claims from the advertisements and feeling gypped to have unloaded another unnecessary tenner from my wallet. But all my trying and testing does mean that there are some products I’ve found which I love, and those are products I return to over and over again. After months of meaning to get around to a lipstick master post letting you know my favourites, finally it’s here. Below are my magic 7 lip products that I love. Why 7? If you have to ask that you have obviously never read Harry Potter. (Also, it just so happens I have literally listed every product I switch back and forth between constantly and that happens to be 7 products, but you know, the ‘7 is the most magically powerful number’ thing as well. That too.)
