Spooky, But Books…But Also Bag? [Vendula London]

Miss Amy May reviews the Vendula London Ghoulevard Books Box Bag

I’ve always been a fits-and-starts reader. Every few years I grow tired of the genre that has previously been my obsession and I spend a year or so languishing in a novel wasteland, reading only if one of my very favourite authors releases a new title. I grew tired of crime and detective novels just before the pandemic hit, so when Bridgerton fever took hold of social media over that dreary, locked-down 2020 Christmas I decided to give the books a try. And lo’, what is this, a whole new fun, flirty, breezy genre I can burn through while everything else is still very miserable and restricted? Continue reading

Vendula London’s Valentine’s Giveaway!

In case you missed it, I reviewed one of Vendula’s cutest new releases from their new Spring/Summer line a couple weeks back, the Birdhouse Backpack. Today, though, I’m not here to review another piece, but instead to offer you the chance to win one of your own! Vendula London have kindly partnered with me to bring you this Valentine’s Giveaway with a chance to win one of their D.A.Y. bags. What’s a D.A.Y bag? Well, to a point, anything you want it to be!

D.A.Y stands for Design your Accessory Yourself, it’s the chance to customise your own Vendula store front design in a Box bag or Grab bag. You choose the bag shape, the type of storefront, the personalised text, and every part of the colour scheme, right down to the zip colour and shoulder straps. I put together an example of an adorable Box Bag I customised myself using the D.A.Y design feature below to give you an idea of how it works.

This Little Birdhouse [Vendula London]

You guys must know the drill with Vendula London by now, right? They produce cute, quirky bags of varying shapes and styles in an array of unique designs, from handbags that look like the store front of a darling sweet shop to clutch bags that look like old fashioned, luxurious fairytale books.

You may know how their designs stand out, but perhaps you didn’t know that their products are all vegan friendly too. I’ll admit that even as someone who owns multiple Vendula products, that awesome fact passed me by until recently, when one of my vegan friends informed me in delight. And speaking of taking care of lovely little creatures, this super adorable new piece puts you in mind of doing just that: y’all, it’s the Birdhouse Backpack.

Absolutely Charming, Maisy [Vendula London]

I’ve featured Vendula London here on the blog several times, a handbag and accessories company known for their quirky designs and funky style. Last Autumn I was in raptures over their romantic storybook style clutch bags, pieces I’m still in love with, but now that it’s spring I’m looking forward to outfits that revolve around sundresses, chunky wooden bangles, bright and light colours that feel good in the sun. In summer I flit back and forth between wearing bold colours and nautical theme ensembles, so I’m often on the look out for a bag that can pair with both. Enter the Maisy charm bag, the perfect versatile handbag for my summer style.

Vendula Creative Bags [Downton Edition]

Vendula London Downton Black Book Cover Clutch Bag

I have a massive thing for hard cased or structural bags. Whether it’s a wicker box purse, a vintage-style acrylic handbag, a sturdy frame handbag or a well structured clutch, I always just find them to be so interesting and chic. One of my particular favourites within this field is the somewhat new trend of the book clutchbag.

Bags that look like books are just too cute for me to handle, bookworm that I am. I’ve fawned over many of them, but I kept waiting for the specific cover art that would best suit my wardrobe. Over time my bookcase continually overflowed but nothing novel was being added to my bag collection. I kept waiting. And then earlier this year, while modelling for Vendula London‘s AW16 line, I discovered they were offering a new book clutch for this season, and a gorgeous one at that. The time had come! Vendula London Unique Bags

Vendula London is a British company that produces all manner of bags, purses and accessories in quirky, fun and cute designs. I’ve featured them before here on the blog when I reviewed one of their clutches and kiss lock bags, and now that their Spring line is ready it’s time to take another look at them.

In the past year or so, I’ve found that becoming a pinup has meant I’ve begun travelling far more than I used to. Some of that involves travelling to photoshoots on modelling jobs, some of that is attending events as a blogger, and some of it is just travelling to spend time with some of my pinup friends I’ve met within the community who don’t happen to live near me.

Vendula London Funky Bags

Typically I’m not one for statement accessories beyond a big crystal necklace. I tend to play it safe and classic with my style choices, even though that sometimes means I fall in love with a lemon wedge shaped clutch bag or a handbag shaped like a house and talk myself out of buying it because I’m not sure how to wear it. Every once in a while I realise how silly that is, since my motto in general is to wear whatever you want because life is too short not to indulge in even the smallest of things that make you happy. Which is why today I’m writing about Vendula London.

Vendula London is, in case you couldn’t guess, a UK based brand, who are 100% animal friendly. They offer a range of unique, funky and quirky bags, from clutch bags to handbags, totes to cosmetic bags, luggage tags, tablet cases, you name it. They’re stocked globally, and when I saw some of their book style clutch bags and quaint traditional English building inspired bags I fell in love.

Seriously?? Adorbs! Continue reading
