I’ve developed a real thing lately for flutter sleeves. They’re comfortable no matter your size, they give great upper arm coverage whilst looking delicate and feminine, and the dresses they’re apart of can often be styled both casually and for events. Saying all that, flutter sleeve dresses aren’t one of the most common shapes in the vintage reproduction world, so I was super pleased to find this leopard printed beauty from Hell Bunny. Delicate femininity and the powerful sass of leopard print? Yes please!
What’s this, sunshine? When I tell you we haven’t had sun at the weekend in weeks it’s no joke–lately it’s been all rain almost all the time, so my hair has been nothing but frizz, the blog has been near silent because I’ve been unable to shoot, and my garden now has what can only be described as swamp-patches. But behold, with a bit of sun not only do I feel lighter and brighter, but I get to share one of my favourite things with you; new Miss Candyfloss. Roll on spring and brand new pretties!
Maybelline has followed their stealthy, under-promoted release of new Superstay Matte Ink liquid lipstick shades with a small release of new shades for their Superstay Matte Ink Crayons. This Pink Edition release comprises of 4 new colours, Speak Your Mind, Run the World, Change is Good, and Keep It Fun. I snatched up all 4 recently and have got swatches for you aplenty to help you figure out if any of these new shades are destined for your lipstick collection. Let’s go!
I love it when companies return to dress styles they’ve made before and give them a new lease of life for new seasons. The Violetta dress was one of my favourites from Hell Bunny spring/summer line last year, a simple, flattering sundress with a full skirt and pockets–what more could you ask for? Well this spring Violetta has become Tora, swapping sweetness for sass.
I’ve never seen the film Amelie so I can’t make any cute puns about the name of this skirt to enchant this opening, but I’ll give you a minute to think of something witty yourself to enjoy and then we’ll move on, okay?
If I was confused by Maybelline’s press silence surrounding their Pink Collection release of new shades of their Superstay Matte Ink lipstick in autumn last year then I’m flummoxed by the fact that they’ve, again, released more shades without any apparent fanfare. This time I couldn’t even find a name for the release; I simply stumbled across the new shades while checking the collection on Superdrug online, as I do every couple months almost absentmindedly, just incase there are new shades, which there usually aren’t. But, lo, there I found 165 Successful, 170 Initiator, 175 Ringleader, 180 Revolutionary and 185 Mover. Let’s get lookin’ and comparin’
I’ve wanted to try Vixen’s Vacation dress since it was first released but I made a conscious decision last year to scale back the amount of clothing I buy, and as such I hadn’t yet been able to justify the purchase.
I don’t enter competitions to win freebies on social media because I don’t think that would be fair given that I get gifted itemsregularly to review here on the blog. However my friend Kat entered Vixen’s ThanksgivingTag a BFF Instagram contest and because I was the friend she tagged we both won a $100 vixen gift voucher. Vixen then launched their 20% off Black Friday sale, and suddenly I could snap up a Vacation dress guilt-free! Obviously I’ll go into the real details below, but the short verdict? It’s as great as everyone says it is!
