April Outfits Round Up

April is for flowers and colours and happy clothes, and that’s exactly what I filled it with. There was some time spent with friends in London, lots of catching up with old friends I haven’t seen in a while, and several lady dates, so I enjoyed sprinkling florals and bright colours among my wardrobe choices for those events. Next month is my 30th birthday, so I’m hoping and expecting to use that as an excuse to get the full on glam going once or twice. For now, let’s boing into spring together.

March Outfits Round Up

IT’S HERE! Spriiiing. That beautiful time I’ve been waiting for since…well, New Year’s, basically. The weather has still been pretty wet and cold here in the south of England, but the sun has finally started to make more regular appearances and I’ve been feeling happy and snappy about that in my wardrobe. Florals, pastels, summer brights, it’s our time to love and rejoice together!

February Outfits Round Up

For the shortest month, February really didn’t feel all that short. I definitely felt like I had lost inspiration for getting dressed in a lot of cases because I’m just fed up of all the rain we’ve been having here in England, constantly messing up my hair and making my yearning for tropical prints look out of place. I’m looking forward to March with high hopes that it might finally bring us some sunshine, because if not the next monthly wrap up might just include a lot of me looking annoyed in sweat pants and hoodies staring out of rain-splattered window panes. You’ve been (only half jokingly) warned!

January Outfits Round Up

It’s been a busy month, catching up with friends after the Christmas break and enjoying a weekend with one of my London friends, Giselle, coming down to stay. And, of course, there was Jenny January, the style challenge event I host in January on social media revolving around the Pinup Girl Clothing Jenny skirts and dresses. If you wanted to read about that event in particular you can find my blog post about it here, but if not you’ll find all my outfits represented below.

December Outfits Round Up

‘Tis the season to be jolly and twinkly and glam! I love Christmas time, even though it’s busy and over far too quickly. Seeing friends and family as much as possible and spoiling them with gifts and joy warms my heart, and I’ll be honest, picking out my outfits for wearing over the Christmas period is one of my favourite parts now. It’s been an incredibly busy month though and I didn’t get to wear as many pretties as I expected. but hey ho, the perfect excuse to start 2016 off with a bang!

November Outfits Round Up

November has been a strange month. The first 6 days of it made up the end of my American trip, the following week an adjustment period of jetlag and playing catch up which saw my motivation to dress prettily bottom out, and then a frantic two week period of busyness and prep as birthdays, blog work and the approaching festive season blended together to make a perfect storm of overwhelming ‘what next, what next?’ feels.

As usual, you can find links in the description to any item that is still available to buy. Anything not linked is from a past season and cannot be found for purchase any longer and/or is not available to buy online.

#MissAmyMayInTheUSA: Style On Vacation

We all do it. We picture having a glamorous and stylish vacation during which we sport a new polished, put together outfit every day so we look groomed and pretty in all our holiday snaps. We think we will have ample time and energy to spare for putting in a wetset in the evening, or for creating an elaborate up-do on the morning after we’ve found 40 minutes to paint on a perfect pinup face. We think we will be able to handle the heat without changing our style or schedule at all.

We dream, basically. It’s a fantasy. Props to the people who manage that, because normally I’m not one of them. I have had the same fantasies about every vacation I’ve gone on since I’ve become a pinup, and while I normally manage to make at least some effort it’s never been the full force I’ve hoped for. And typically the chance to take outfit pictures has fallen by the wayside too.

So while I’ve done a full October run down of the month’s outfits as usual from last month  including the October portion of my trip to America, I wanted to do a post that focuses particularly and honestly on what I wore while I was away, how I adapted my style to being away from my full wardrobe and vast collection of beauty supplies, and how my energy levels and motivations held up against the fantasy expectations of looking perfect and primped every day of a 15 day vacation spent in two different locations. October Outfits Round Up

It’s been a crazy month. I’m currently on my long-awaited vacay in America, attending a friend’s wedding in Virginia followed by a long stint in Texas with my friend Sarah. The weeks leading up to my trip were packed full of prep and pre-blogging, and some of the outfits I wore just didn’t get documented because I was so pushed for time. Here, though, are the outfits I did manage to capture for you.

September Outfits Round Up

Autumn is here! And I have mostly been ignoring that fact! I keep meaning to bust out the mustard yellows and the plummy purples and the moody reds, but so far I’ve been wearing a lot of white after Labor Day like a bad bitch–Labor Day isn’t a thing here in the UK, so it doesn’t matter, but even if I was I still would not give up my white cardigans for anyone. Y’all can eat your fashion rules.

It’s been an awesome month. With my recent trip back to Frome to model again for Deadly Is The Female and a Very Potter Weekend spent with some of my darling pinup buddies touring the Harry Potter Studio Tour in pinup versions of our favourite Potter characters, there’s been some fun playtime in my wardrobe choices this month.

August Outfits Round Up

As far as Augusts go, this one has kind of failed at the one thing I expect of it: to at least try to be decently warm and sunny. We had so much rain there were floods locally, and if I’m totally honest with you I had a bit of a stressed, low energy month personally that made it hard for me sometimes to summon the motivation to make anything more than a base-level attempt at taming my appearance or styling my outfits. I used that low energy as an excuse to both avoid setting my hair so often and to embrace wearing my hair up more. Thanks to #JennyJuly, July passed without me wearing a wiggle at all, failing my once a month self-imposed Wiggle Dress challenge as part of #LovingMeIn2015, so this month I made up for that multiple times with several body hugging outfits.
