I go through phases of getting obsessed with certain types of accessories. Sometimes it will be hair accessories, other times brooches, more often than not it can be shoes or handbags. But the one accessory I’m on the look out for pretty much always? Bangles. So it’s a good thing it’s a new season because that means new Splendette!

Look, once upon a time I couldn’t get behind vintage-inspired shoes because a pair of deadly stilettos just felt more fun. Now, though? My god, give me authenticity and comfort or give me death. Thankfully, Hotter is here to save my life and my feet.

There are two types of people; people who love being matchy-matchy with their accessories, and people who dgaf. In a way, I do sort of aspire to be the latter, because in that chaotic pocket of people you have both people who really don’t care about aesthetics and people who know how to take a risk to create something really bold and unusual, and both outcomes are inspiring in their own way. But no, I am a matchy-matchy accessoriser, down to my core, and I don’t think that’s going to change. There’s just something so visually pleasing about finding a necklace that perfectly matches your shoes, or a handbag that matches your cardigan. Or, in the case of Ruby Shoo 100% of the time, a handbag that matches your statement shoes, a perfect, stand-out pair ready to elevate every outfit. And this duo? Oh this duo is something else entirely!
It’s news to no one that I love the Claudia dress by Alexandra King for Deadly is the Female since I already own 5 of them–4 of the bishop sleeve dresses and 1 of the bishop sleeve gowns, in the super luxe and impossibly glamorous navy velvet version. I don’t, however, own any of the flutter sleeves, purely because I could never quite decide which colour would make the most sense for me to purchase, on a practical level. Well, Deadly and Alexandra made that decision real easy for me recently by releasing their first ever printed Claudia dress–this navy polka dot flutter sleeve beauty, made to sway and swish in the way of all your most buttery chiffon dreams.

I’ve developed a real thing lately for flutter sleeves. They’re comfortable no matter your size, they give great upper arm coverage whilst looking delicate and feminine, and the dresses they’re apart of can often be styled both casually and for events. Saying all that, flutter sleeve dresses aren’t one of the most common shapes in the vintage reproduction world, so I was super pleased to find this leopard printed beauty from Hell Bunny. Delicate femininity and the powerful sass of leopard print? Yes please!

What’s this, sunshine? When I tell you we haven’t had sun at the weekend in weeks it’s no joke–lately it’s been all rain almost all the time, so my hair has been nothing but frizz, the blog has been near silent because I’ve been unable to shoot, and my garden now has what can only be described as swamp-patches. But behold, with a bit of sun not only do I feel lighter and brighter, but I get to share one of my favourite things with you; new Miss Candyfloss. Roll on spring and brand new pretties!
I love it when companies return to dress styles they’ve made before and give them a new lease of life for new seasons. The Violetta dress was one of my favourites from Hell Bunny spring/summer line last year, a simple, flattering sundress with a full skirt and pockets–what more could you ask for? Well this spring Violetta has become Tora, swapping sweetness for sass.

I’ve never seen the film Amelie so I can’t make any cute puns about the name of this skirt to enchant this opening, but I’ll give you a minute to think of something witty yourself to enjoy and then we’ll move on, okay?
…Done? Awesome, let’s get to it!
